Longing
I have a hole in my heart. In fact I’ve had it all my life.
No I don’t need, but I want…
I want love
I want a lover
I want belonging. I want to belong
I want someone who I can call my own. Who would call me her own
I crave a companion. To share the good and bad.
A partner through thick and thin
I must rise above they say, but I don’t want to
I must love myself first, but I do.
Rise above human needs they say. But I want to live like a Human for once.
To be weak
To be vulnerable..
To be needy..
To possess and be possessed
Someone to rise to divinity with
Someone to share my life with
I want a home I’ve never had
I want to experience unity, of the soul
I want my human connection, my divine union
I yearn for the human touch.. Personal.. Intimate.
Someone to quench the thirst of my body, mind and soul
Someone to complete my existence
Someone to lift me to greater heights, inspire me to keep moving forward, challenge me to be my best self, encourage me to live every moment, squeeze every drop of the nectar of life.
Someone to cradle my fall when I jump too high.. To bring me back to ground and urge me to try again.
Someone who is happy in my happiness
Someone who wishes only the best for me
Someone who adores and cherishes me for who I am, not for what I can do, or for my looks, my CV or my bank balance.
I know I’m not the only one looking
And I know I will find her
Until then I must wait, with indefinite patience
But I can’t wait forever, for I’m only human. Surely I will break someday.
God, why are you making me wait so long? What lessons must I learn? When would I be ready? When would I deserve the fruit of my …efforts?
You, wherever you are.. Please show yourself to me.
I promise I will cherish you every moment of every day.
I promise to help you in your unique journey, even if that means standing quietly by your side.
I promise that together, we will uncover the fabric of the universe.
I promise together, we will walk into the light. And stay there.
