Slow Burner

With you, I was a wild fire. Sometimes I burned in rage. Sometimes infuriated you. Sometimes shone brilliantly, brightly, wildly.. more than I have ever known.
Now the fire is gone, all that’s left is embers.

Slow burner.

The white dwarf after the red giant. A star that has expended itself. Exhausted itself. Purged, itself.
The long long night after the blazing glory of day.

Long, endless night.
Nothing for miles.
Not a light in sight.
Not a starry night.
Not a star in the sky
Energy.. low
Nowhere to go
No home in sight
I am alone……..… tonight

I hope this night turns.. to day
I hope to see the light... of day
I hope the demons... go away
I hope my tide turns… some day
Some day.

I am not used to being this way
Not in a while
But wait
Apart from this little blaze
This was me… all.. my.. life

Sad, alone
Without home
Naked, alone
Alone.
All on my……… own.
No one
No one……… to come.
